Let's be honest - The biggest source of stress before almost every photo session isn't getting the kids ready. It's figuring out what everyone is going to wear.

The good news? You don't need a closet full of designer clothes or perfectly matching outfits. In fact, the best photos happen when your clothing feels effortless, comfortable, and most like you.

Start with one outfit you love.

Personally, when doing my own photos, I choose my outfit first because I am the hardest to figure out. Once I'm out of the way, everyone else is easy. However, for you, you might have an adorable romper that you absolutely want your baby girl to wear. Use that as your starting point and inspiration for everyone else. Build around it!

Things to keep in mind:
- Textures photograph better than patterns. Keep patterns to a minimum, but definitely layer on different textures!!

A chunky knit sweater. Linen. Cotton. Denim. Lace. Flowy fabrics that move with the wind.

These little details create depth and movement that photographs beautifully.

- Dress for Movement! One of my favorite things about the way I photograph is that I want you moving. We are going to walk through fields, pick up your kids, twirl around, cuddle and laugh, and run through fields.

The more movement your clothing allows, the more natural your images will feel. If you can't comfortably sit, hug your child, or spin around in it, it's probably not the right choice.

Here's the secret -
The Best Outfit Is Confidence

The most beautiful thing you can wear isn't a dress. Or expensive shoes. Or the perfect hat.

It's confidence! When you feel comfortable, you relax. When you relax, you connect. And that's where the magic happens!
